Scoobie Buzzer
1. Start by placing a length of green wire next to the shank of the hook. Tie the thread on near to the bend of the hook then wind up to create an even underbody.
This particular fly is a dedicated trout pattern. It may be made out an unusual material but it does seem to catch when other flies are finding it hard to entice a nibble.

I fish it almost static beneath a buoyant fly or a pimp. (Matuka style) Depth you will have to judge on the day but I have had a lot of success when I have fished it within the top 18" of the water.
2. Slide on a piece of green or black scoobie.
3. Wrap the wire around the scoobie to create a ribbed effect.
4. Catch the end of the wire beneath the thread and wind down the body. Catch on a piece of goose biot or orange flash from a doritos crisp packet.
5. Make a head with the thread then fold the goose biot (or crisp packet sliver) up and over. Catch it with the thread so that it makes a wing on the casing then tie off next to the eye. Give it a good coat of varnish.
