Saltwater Squid
1. Start by braiding three pieces of wool together. Tie a knot and then use a teasel brush to make the wool flare.
This fly is a very large saltwater model and is useful for trolling from boat. It can also be used for casting with a heavy weight fly rod, such as a nine weight rod. It is a heavy fly to cast but will catch species such as mackerel or bass.
2. Make a second braid and then catch both to the side of a long-shanked saltwater hook.
4. Then catch on a pair of bead eyes near the bend of the hook.
5. Catch on some pale wool and use it to make a head for the squid.
