		<description>Hi Everyone
Apologies for Friday but the access road is flooded and it is absolutely chucking it down even as I write. If you have bought bait, give me a tinkle and I&#039;ll try to get a few people together for a trip tomorrow. (My bait is sitting in the fridge even as I am jotting this down.)
Hope you&#039;re all keeping well!
All the best!

		<description>Hi all

With the autumn season now in full swing, there are a few opportunities around that members might like to take advantage of:

1. Garfish - there will be plenty of small garfish around in different places - expect greatest concentrations around Hopes Nose, the very end of the Breakwater and Babbacombe Pier. Really big garfish, however, will show up in different places with the most likely chance of connecting with a big one being Teignmouth Back Beach. Some bigger flounder will also begin to show at this mark, with a lot of them falling to legered/float-fished live sandeel.

2. Mackerel will show at the same places but will then congregate in greatest numbers - in about a month&#039;s time - at Princess Pier. For now some big ones should turn up to legered sprat, with Goodrington Promenade probably one of the best marks for this.

3. Coalfish - some quite large - are likely to turn up in a few places. Try fishing inside Brixham Breakwater, towards the end, with legered peeler crab. *(Be generous with bait!)

4. Only one place now left on the boat trip. Cost is £40.00, including some bait, so please contact me ASAP.

Lots of other things to try.

Members, feel free to ring if you want to discuss anything else.

Best to all!</description>

		<description>Hi All
Just a quick note to remind you that it is the Steamer Quay competition on Friday night. The competition costs £2 per person with all proceeds going to the Totnes Carnival Committee for their work with local charities. There will be a raffle afterwards while the prizelist goes down to seventh place with additional junior and lady&#039;s prizes.
First prize is a lovely rod and reel plus £20.00 plus a meal for a family of four at the Silver Grill restaurant, Totnes. Second prize is a good rod and reel plus £10.00 plus tickets for the Dart Valley Steam Railway round robin trips (train and boat) for four people.
Hope to see you all soon.
Best wishes

		<description>Hi All
Just a quick note to check that you saw the revised schedule and noted the change of date from Saturday to Sunday. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Isle of Wight camping trip was most enjoyable. Fishing around the Isle a little patchy but we turned up bass, lemon sole, turbot and plaice. Nice to have a change of species! Got in a few more marks so, when I have time, I&#039;ll put up a short article on the website.
See you all soon.

		<description>Hi Tom

We did okay today though most of what was caught was very small. There were a lot of undersized mackerel around and a couple of garfish. A few small wrasse showed up but there was nothing really to speak of. Everyone had a good time though.

The £4 concessionary price at Town Parks next week does not, I&#039;m afraid, cover the match lake all day. With the fishery being a commercial water, club members must present their membership cards to Jerry in order to claim his kind discount and then start fishing at 9.00 am. They must then be gone from the lake by 2.00 pm.

Best of luck for tomorrow.

<description>Hi Martyn, I was unable to get to the nose today as I had family things to sort unfortunately. Am thinking of heading down for a few hours tomorrow and was wondering how you got on today? I&#039;m also going to try and make it to Town Parks next week (fingers crossed). Does the £4 allow fishing on the match lake all day?

		<description>Hi Tom
Nice to hear from you and will hopefully get a chance to meet you tomorrow. We had an event down at Hopes Nose two weeks ago and did very well with a lot of mackerel and a few garfish coming to the net, along with a few reasonable pollack (and a lot of small ones!) As to whether or not tomorrow will do as well remains to be seen. With a strong SSE wind forecast there may not be as many fish around though hopefully there should be a few to keep us entertained. Mind you, at the moment, I&#039;m writing this while a thunderstorm is crashing all around the house and it&#039;s absolutely chucking it down!
Our usual procedure is that, if the weather tomorrow is too bad for the event to go ahead, then members will be able to call the club telephone, the number of which can be found on the schedule of events, from about 7.30 am onwards. (I usually try to get there ahead of the event and see whether or not it is fishable.)
Hopefully see you soon!

<description>Hi all, just looking through the website and I&#039;m quite interested in joining Baywater Anglers. I&#039;m looking to come to the Hopes Nose social fish and teach in and was just wondering how it&#039;s fishing at the moment? I&#039;m new to sea fishing and have been coarse fishing for a few years now.
Look forward to hearing your thoughts
regards

<description>Well done to Paul Smith, bagging a decent thin-lip on his first ever try for them. Well done also to those who also caught his smaller cousins - don&#039;t worry, they will get bigger! Quite a few wrasse now showing - Becky had one 2.5 lbs on a four metre pole. Should have seen it bend! Loads of mackerel on our recent event with a few bigger ones showing in amongst them. Hopefully a bit more variety will soon start to show in the catches - well done Chris for your coalfish - did you notice that no-one has weighed one in before? It would have been a club record. (Whoops!)
Best of luck to everybody.
